Japanese star Kubo will play a friendly match in Tokyo three days after the final match of La Liga

Sociedad is a team of Japanese star Takefusa Kubo (22).

Kubo has been playing as a key striker in the Sociedad since the 2022-23 season. Kubo had nine goals and four assists in 35 matches of the Spanish Primera Liga in the 2022-23 season. He has seven goals and three assists in 23 matches in La Liga this season. Kubo also played in eight matches (one assist) in the UEFA Champions League.

Sociedad has 13 wins, 10 draws and seven losses (49 points) in 30 matches in La Liga this season. Sociedad ranks sixth among 20 La Liga clubs.

Sociedad has eight more games to play this season. The final match will be against Atletico Madrid on May 27 at its home stadium (Real Arena).

After the match, Sociedad will board a plane bound for Tokyo. Sociedad will hold a friendly match against Tokyo Verdi at the National Stadium in Tokyo on Sunday.

Sociedad is actively exploring Asian markets. Sociedad is reportedly considering recruiting Japanese players to contribute to the team along with Kubo.

Sociedad also has ties with Korea. Lee became the first Korean to enter the La Liga in 2003 when he joined Sociedad.
